SELFDRIVE The Grand Colonial Tour

Colonial Grand-Tour will allow you to discover most of the towns that still have Spanish charm in many of its monuments, heritage of Spaniard conquest but also its Mexican character; this is the region where Mexican independance began in the 19th. Century.

Day 1 - ... / MEXICO (in the afternoon)
- Pick-up of rental car in the city.

Day 2 - Mexico - Tula - Queretaro - San Miguel de Allende (280 kms)
On the way North. visit Tula, an archaeological site. Possibility of visiting the colonial city of Queretaro before taking the road to San Miguel de Allende.

Day 3 - San Miguel De Allende - Guanajuato (101 kms)
Visit this artistic and intellectual city. On the way to Guanajuato, stop at Dolores Hidalgo..

Day 4 - Guanajuato
In the morning, a walking visit of downtown. In the afternoon, tour the neighbourhood, by car.

Day 5 - Guanajuato - Leon - Guadalajara (296 kms)
On the way, make a stop at Leon, known for leather-work. In the afternoon, discover Guadalajara, capital of the Mariachis and Tequila.

Day 6 - Guadalajara - Morelia (293 kms)
Excursion to the villages of Tlanepaque (handicrafts) and Tonala (pottery), then on to Morelia,

Day 7 - Morelia - Patzcuaro - Morelia (120 kms)
Possibility of excursion to Patzcuaro town and the Janitzio island. In the afternoon, end of the visit in Morelia.

Day 8 - Morelia - Mexico (302 Kms) / …
Return to Mexico-city by highway. Return the rental car in Mexico (city or airport).
